Abstract
En anordning for inspeksjon av rør, som omfatter et legeme tilpasset å kunne passere gjennom utboringen i et rør som skal inspiseres; en hovedrekke av transdusere som omfatter et antall transdusere fordelt langs periferien for å utsende ultralydenergi der transduserne er montert på legemet slik at de kan beveges mellom en inntrukket stilling hvor legemet kan bevege seg fritt gjennom utboringen i røret, og en utstrakt stilling hvor de mange transduserne er presset i driftskontakt mot den indre rørveggen; bevegelsesmekanismer for selektivt å drive de mange transduserne til sine utstrakte stillinger; og kontrollmidler for kontroll av transduserne til å utsende ultralydenergi inn i det nevnte røret for å forplante en ledet bølge inne i rørveggene i minst én longitudinal retning langs røret når transduserne er i sine driftsstillinger og for å motta den forplantede bølgen og analysere bølgen for å fastslå tilstedeværelse eller fravær av defekter i rørveggen.
