Abstract

Fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av en blanding av hydrogen og karbonmonoksid fra en hydrokarbon-gassblanding som omfatter metan, etan og eventuelt hydrokarboner med høyere antall hydrokarboner (3) ved å utføre: (a) prereformering (4) av hydrokarbonblandingen i nærvær av en egnet reformeringskatalysator for å omdanne etan og eventuelt høyere hydrokarboner til metan, karbondioksid og hydrogen, (b) oppvarme (6) gassblandingen oppnådd i trinn (a) til en temperatur over 650 °C, og (c) utføre partiell oksidasjon (11) ved å bringe den oppvarmede blanding fra trinn (b) i kontakt med en oksygenkilde (9) i en reaktorbrenner som gir en reaktorutløpsstrøm (12).
