Abstract
En fremgangsmåte for å kjøle en naturgasstrøm (CH) og separere den kjølte gasstrøm i forskjellige fraksjoner med forskjellig kokepunkt, for eksempel metan, etan, propan, butan og kondensater, omfatter: å kjøle gas-strømmen (1, 2) og separere den kjølte gasstrøm i en innløpsseparasjonstank (4), en fraksjoneringssøyle (7) hvor en metanrik fluidfraksjon (CH4) blir separert fra en metanmager fluidfraksjon (C+H), å mate minst en del av den metananrikede fluidfraksjon fra innløps-separasjonstanken (4) til en syklonekspansjons- og separasjonsinnretning (8) som fortrinnsvis har en isentropisk ekspansjonvirkningsgrad på minst 80 %, for eksempel en supersonisk eller transonisk syklon, og å mate den metanutarmede fluidfraksjon fra syklonekspansjons- og separasjonsinnretningen (8) inn i fraksjoneringssøylen (7) for ytterligere separasjon.
