Abstract

Oppfinnelsen angår en blokkform (1) for metaller, beregnet for fremstilling av en blokk (11) ved avkjøling og størkning av en masse av flytende metall. Formen omfatter en vegg (2) som avgrenser en bunn (4) og en innvendig overflate (5), av hvilken en del S, kalt kjøleflaten, kan bortlede all eller noe av varmeenergien som avgis av metallmassen under avkjøling og størkning. Oppfinnelsen kjennetegnes ved at kjøleflaten S omfatter i det minste ett plant overflateelement Si som danner hele eller en del av bunnen (4) i blokkformen (1).Oppfinnelsen kjennetegnes også ved at det er i det minste ett punkt C på et plan Pi som er tangent til overflateelementet Si, slik at alle rette linjesegmenter D som forbinder ethvert punkt R på kjøleflaten S med punktet C forløper bare inne i formen (1). Oppfinnelsen kjennetegnes dessuten ved at det totale arealet til overflateelementene Si er lik i det minste 10% av flaten S. Blokkformen i henhold til oppfinnelsen kan anvendes for å fremskynde produksjonen av blokker.
