Abstract
System for enkeltvis styring av effektnivået for flere optiske signaler (37) som er bølge- lengdedelt multiplekset (WDM-signaler) i en eneste optisk leder (36) som har optisk dempeutstyr som omfatter flere optiske dempeledd (35) som kan styres hver for seg. Et eksempel på et egnet optisk dempeledd er et avstembart Bragg-fibergitterfilter, hvis refleksjonskarakteristikk varierer med bølgelengden over et aktivt område av filteret. Ved å avstemme filteret er det mulig å styre reflektiviteten ved en bestemt bølgelengde i det aktive område. Systemet kan i 'tillegg omfatte en andre mengde optiske dempeledd (45) anordnet for å kompensere for mulig effektnivå-forvrengning innført av den første mengde. Optiske sirkulatorer (30, 40) kan benyttes for å rute signaler inn i og mellom mengdene av optiske dempeledd.
