Abstract
Oljeholdig vann og nitrat ledes gjennom en bioreaktor for å fjerne HS. Nitrat tilsettes til det oljeholdige vannet i et doseforhold (sulfid : nitrat) fra 1:10 til 1:40. Oppholdstiden i reaktortanken er 10-60 minutter. Etter denne behandlingen blir renset vann der >90% av HS-mengden er fjernet sluppet ut av tanken.Utstyret for å utføre den ovenfor nevnte fremgangsmåten er basert på en bioreaktor som har høy tettet av denitrifiserende bakterier. Reaktortanken er fylt med bæremateriale som gir stor kontaktflate. Jevn fordeling av oljeholdig vann og nitrat utover bærematerialet som allerede kan være dekt av septikslam, danner en aktiv sulfidoksiderende biofilm med stor overflate. Denne biofilmen danner et ekstremt effektivt utstyr for å fjerne sulfid fra oljeholdig vann.
