Description
Oppfinnelsen gjelder anvendelse av herdbare kunst-harpiksblandinger for trykkfarger og for overtrykks lakker, bestående av epoxydharpiks/herder-blandinger og polyamider.
Det fremfor alt i disse år sprangvis økende behov for forpakningsmateriale, spesielt i konsumvare- og nærings-middelindustrien, har gjort det nødvendig med endrede inn-pakningsteknikker. På grunn av disse endrede innpaknings-teknikker er også kravene til de anvendte trykkfarger i praksis steget raskt. De nødvendige, høye temperaturholdbar-heter for forseglingstidene som stadig blir kortere, såvel som holdbarhetene overfor vann, syrer, baser og spesielt fett og oljer, som er nødvendige på grunn av de skjerpede næringsmiddellover, oppnås ikke lenger i tilstrekkelig grad med de hittil anvendte, termoplastiske bindemidler.
Ved anvendelsen av tokomponentfarger på basis av epoxydharpiks/herder-systemer ble riktignok overtrekkeaes kjemikalieholdbarhet forbedret, imidlertid er forseglingsfastheten ikke alltid tilstrekkelig høy for praksis. Systemer av denne type beskrives i DE-AS 1 494 525. For oppnåelse av klare løsninger måtte løsningsmidlet utover dette inneholde en relativt høy andel av aromatiske forbindelser.
På grunn av at hensynet til arbeidsplass- og miljøbeskyttelse i den senere tid stadig er kommet mere i forgrunnen, kreves det i praksis imidlertid bindemidler for overtrekkslakker og trykkfarger, som er lett løselige i løs-ningsmidler som er frie for aromatiske forbindelser. Anvendelse av aromatiske forbindelser er også uønsket av teknolo-giske grunner, da de gummi- og polymer-klisjeer som anvendes i Flexo-trykk herved kan svelle opp.
I DE-AS 2 733 597 og DE-OS 2 811 700 beskrives epoxydharpiks/herder-blandinger, som gir klare løsninger i løsningsmidler som er frie for aromatiske forbindelser, og som også i stor grad tilsvarer kravene i praksis når det gjelder filmegenskaper og kjemikalieholdbarhet. Når det gjelder trykkhastighet og forseglingsfasthet for trykkfilmene er det imidlertid fortsatt ønskelig med forbedringer.
I US-PS 2 865 870 beskrives overtrekksmidler på basis av epoxydharpiks/herder-blandinger og celluloseaceto-butyrater. I dette system anvendes en løsning av en fast epoxydharpiks og et polyaminoamid med en aminhydrogen-ekvivalentvekt på 237, som ikke gir klare filmer og må ut-herdes i varme.
Det ivar en oppgave ved foreliggende oppfinnelse å finne bindemiddelsystemer som er lettløselige i løsningsmid-ler som er frie for aromatiske forbindelser, som etter for-damping av løsningsmidlet først gir fysikalsk tørre og klare og etter herding ved romtemperatur henholdsvis svakt forhøyet temperatur gir kjemikalieholdbare filmer og oppviser høye forseglingsfastheter opp til 250° C, slik at de kan forarbei-des på rasktløpende, moderne forpakningsmaskiner.
Oppfinnelsen angår således anvendelse av en rora-temperaturherdbar harpiksblanding, bestående av A) glycidylforbindelser med mer enn én epoxydgruppe pr. molekyl og epoxydverdier fra 0,4 til 0,7, og

hvori opp til 0,30 aminhydrogenekvivalenter av polyaminoamidet (1) er foradduktert med glycidylforbindelsene (2) og
C) et fast polyamid, bestående av
a) dimer fettsyre og
b) ethyldiamin og eventuelt
c) minst ett alifatisk og/eller heterocyklisk
diamin som eventuelt inneholder heteroatomer som
eventuelt er substituerte
hvor forholdet b) :c) er inntil 0,5 : 0,5 ekvivalenter, og d) minst én kort, lineær, alifatisk monocarboxylsyre i mengder fra 0,4 - 0,8 ekvivalenter, beregnet
på totalsyreekvivalenter, hvorved det anvendes i det vesentlige ekvivalente mengder av syre- og aminkomponenter og
hvor A) og B) foreligger i i det vesentlige ekvivalente mengder og hvor forholdet A) + B) : C) er fra 9 : 1 til 1,5 : 1, som bindemiddel for trykkfarger og overtrykkslakker.
De epoxydharpikser som medanvendes ifølge oppfinnelsen, som såvel kan anvendes alene som også i blanding, er flytende til halvfaste, aromatiske glycidylethere med mer enn én epoxydgruppe pr. molekyl, som avledes av flerverdige fenoler, spesielt bisfenoler, eller flytende alifatiske eller cycloalifatiske glycidylethere, som avledes fra alifatiske, flerverdige alkanoler, spesielt ethandiol, propan-diol, butandiol, pentandiol, hexandiol, dipropylenglycol, tripropylenglycol, tetrapropylenglycol, nonapropylenglycol, tetraethylenglycol, netopentylglycol, glycerol, diglycerol, pentaerythritol, 1,4-dimethylol-cyclohexan og deres epoxydverdi ligger mellom 0,40 og 0,7, spesielt mellom 0,40 og 0,56 ved aromatiske glycidylethere på basis av bisfenol A og/eller bisfenol F og 0,6 til 0,7 ved alifatiske glycidylethere på basis av neopentylglycol, hexandiol, glycerol og diglycerol.
Uttrykket epoxydverdi anvendes i den definisjon som er vanlig på dette område, og angir antallet epoxydgrupper pr. 100 gram epoxydharpiks.
De faste herdemidler ifølge B) som anvendes som herdemidler ifølge oppfinnelsen, er addukter av overskudd av polyaminoamider og glycidylforbindelser.
Polyaminoamidene er kondensasjonsprodukter av dimer fettsyre, ethylendiamin og minst ett alifatisk eller cyclo-alifatisk ko-diamin, som eventuelt også kan være substituert eller kan inneholde heteroatomer, som spesielt oxygenatomer. Foretrukket ifølge oppfinnelsen er l-amino-3,5,5-trimethyl-3-aminomethyl-cyclohexan (isoforondiamin), 1,2-diaminopropan, isomerblandingen av l,6-diamino-2,2,4(2,4,4)-trimethylhexan og 1,12-diamino-4,9-dioxa-dodekan (butandioletherdiamin).
Forholdet mellom ethylendiamin og ko-diamin kan varieres innenfor et område av 0,95 : 0,05 til 0,5 : 0,5, fortrinnsvis fra 0,9 : 0,1 til 0,8 : 0,2, hvorved den totale aminmengde anvendes i et slikt overskudd, at det resulterende, faste polyaminoamid oppviser amintall mellom ca. 30 - 60, spesielt fra 45 - 55.
Uttrykket amintall (AZ) har den betydning som er vanlig på det foreliggende område. Det angir mengden i milli-gram KOH som er ekvivalent med baseinnholdet av 1 gram polyaminoamid, beregnet ved titrering med HCl.
Uttrykket dimer fettsyre henviser til de tekniske, polymeriserte fettsyrer som befinner seg i handelen. Det betegner i almen form polymeriserte syrer, som oppnås fra "fettsyrer". Uttrykket fettsyre omfatter umettede, naturlige og syntetiske, énbasiske, alifatiske syrer med 12 - 22 carbonatomer, foretrukket 18 carbonatomer. Disse fettsyrer lar seg polymerisere ifølge vanlig kjente fremgangsmåter (sammenlign for eksempel US-PS 2 482 761, US-PS 3 256 304).
Typiske polymere fettsyrer som kan fåes i handelen, har omtrent følgende sammensetning:
Det kan også anvendes fettsyrer, hvis innhold av dimere syrer som ved hjelp av vanlig kjente destillasjons-fremgangsmåter er forhøyet til ca. 100 vekt%, eller som er hydrert ved hjelp av kjente fremgangsmåter.
For adduktering av polyaminoamidene kan én eller flere av glycidylforbindelsene ifølge A) anvendes. Det er også mulig å anvende henholdsvis medanvende andre epoxyder, såfremt adduktenes løselighet i de aromatfrie løsningsmidler ikke blir påvirket.
Foretrukket ifølge oppfinnelsen er glycidylethere på basis av bisfenol A og/eller bisfenol F med epoxydverdier mellom 0,40-0,56.
Den nedre grense for addukteringen er avhengig av det anvendte polyaminoamid og glycidylforbindelsen. Den kan ved hjelp av noen orienterende forsøk fastslås raskt og enkelt ved overprøving av forseglingsfastheten til sluttpro-duktene. For den øvre grense gjelder i og for seg det samme, men i dette tilfelle må den ligge under geleringsområdet. Ifølge oppfinnelsen foretrekkes en addukteringsgrad i området fra 0,05 til 0,30, særlig fra 0,15 til 0,25 ved aromatiske og fra 0,20 til 0,25 ved alifatiske glycidylethere.
Addukteringsgraden betegner brøkdelen av den epoxyd-harpiksmengde, som betegnes med 1,0, som er nødvendig for fullstendig omsetning av alle, reaktive aminhydrogenatomer i polyaminoamidet.
Det faste polyamid ifølge C) er et kondensasjons-produkt av dimer fettsyre, ethylendiamin og eventuelt minst ett alifatisk diamin og/eller heterocyklisk diamin som eventuelt inneholder eventuelt substituerte heteroatomer, spesielt oxygenatomer, og minst én kortkjedet monocarboxylsyre. Som ko-diaminer foretrekkes ifølge oppfinnelsen alifatiske diaminer med 3-6 carbonatomer i hovedkjeden som spesielt 1,6-diaminohexan og den tekniske isomerblanidng av 16-diamino-2,2,4(2,4,4)-triethylhexan såvel som etherdiaminer som spesielt 1,12-diamino-4,9-dioxadodekanet og heterocykliske diaminer som spesielt piperazin, N-aminoethylpiperazin og 1,3-bis(4-piperidyl)propan.
Forholdet mellom ethylendiamin og ko-diamin kan varieres innen grensene fra 1,0 : 0 til 0,5 : 0,5, men fortrinnsvis fra 0,95 : 0,05 til 0,8 : 0,2 ekvivalenter.
De medanvendte, kortkjedede monocarboxylsyrer er spesielt lineære, alifatiske syrer med opp til 4 carbonatomer som maursyre, eddiksyre, propionsyre og smørsyre. De medanvendes i mengder fra 0,4 til 0,8, spesielt fra 0,5 til 0,7 ekvivalenter, beregnet på total syreekvivalenter.
Foretrukket ifølge oppfinnelsen er faste polyamider, som er fremstilt fra i det vesentlige ekvivalente mengder av syrer og aminer, som oppviser en omtrentlig voksaktig karak-ter, er løselige i kortkjedede alkoholer og hvis smeltepunkt (ring og kule-smeltepunkt DIN 1995) ligger omkring 150° C eller derunder.
For oppnåelse av en optimal herding anvendes bestanddelene A) : B) i i det vesentlige ekvivalente mengder, beregnet på aminohydrogenatomer og epoxydgrupper. De mulige avvikelser med overskuddsmengder av én av bestanddelene og de derav oppnådde egenskapsforandringer er kjent for fagman-nen på det foreliggende område og kan likeledes tolereres innenfor disse rammer.
Forholdet mellom bestanddelene A) + B) : C) som er medbestemmende for den høye forseglingsfasthet, påvirkes så vel av epoxydharpiks- og herdebestanddelene som også av oppbyggingen av bestanddel C). Anvendt ifølge oppfinnelsen er et forhold mellom A) + B) : C), som ligger mellom 9 : 1 og 1,5 : 1, spesielt mellom 4 : 1 og 1,5 : 1.
Bestanddelen C) kan tildannes som separat bestanddel til den reaktive blanding eller avhengig av behov helt eller delvis tilblandes én av bestanddelene A) eller B) eller begge bestanddeler.
De medanvendte løsningsmidler er frie for aromatiske forbindelser. Mens det for de alifatiske glycidylforbindelser anvendes kortkjedede, alifatiske alkoholer som ethanol, n-propanol, iso-propanol eller deres blandinger, foretrekkes det for de aromatiske glycidylethere blandinger av alkoholer med eddiksyreethylester.
For herdebestanddel B) foretrekkes som regel iso-propanol eller n-propanol eller blandinger av de kortkjedede alkoholer som ethanol/n-propanol eller n-propanol/iso-propanol.
De medanvendbare pigmenter, farvestoffer, fornet-nings- og forløpsmidler er produktene som er vanlige og vel-kjente for trykkfarver.
Uorganiske og organiske substrater kan påtrykkes hhv. påsjiktes ved hjelp av blandinger ifølge oppfinnelsen. Det kommer på tale folier som er vanlige i trykke-industrien, av for eksempel polyamider, polyestere eller varmefølsomme folier av f.eks. polyethylen og polypropylen, samekstruderingsfolier av polyethylen og polypropylen, ikke behandlede celleglassfolier eller celleglassfolier som er besjiktet med polymerer eller lakkert med nitrocellulose, av folier, papir, kartonasje som er pådampet metaller, og eventuelt polyvinylklorid hhv. dets kopolymerisater, såvel som metallfolier som f.eks. aluminiumfolier. Kombinasjoner av disse materialer er eventuelt også mulig.
Fremstilling av blandingene
1. Epoxydharpiksblandinger
I en blanding, bestående av 18,0 g ethanol og 10,0
g ethylacetat oppløses 8,0 g bisfenol A-epoxydharpiks (Tabell 3, eksempel 2) og 14,0 g polyaminoamid (Eksempel 2, Tabell 2) under omrøring og svak oppvarming.
Løsningen er ferdig til bruk etter avkjøling (eksempel 1, Tabell 5).
2. Herderblandinger
I en blanding som består av 29,0 g ethanol og
23,0 g n-propanol, oppløses 32,4 g polyaminoamid (eksempel 1, Tabell 1) og 13,0 g polyaminoamid (eksempel 2, Tabell 2) under omrøring og svak oppvarming. Etter avkjølingen tilsettes 2,6 g bisfenol-A-epoxydharpiks (Tabell 3, Eksempel 2) og omrøres straks. Løsningen som til å begynne med er svakt uklar, oppvarmes så til ca. 60° C og omrøres videre i 5 timer ved denne temperatur.
Løsningen som nu er klar, ble ferdig til bruk etter avkjøling (Eksempel 1, Tabell 4).
Det oppnås blandinger som står ferdig til bruk i riktig blandingsforhold, når de mengder som er angitt i Tabell 6 tilsettes sammen og blandes godt.
På samme måte fremstilles samtlige herder- og harpiksblandinger som er oppført i Tabellene 4 og 5 såvel som de blandinger som er oppført i Tabell 6.
Fremstilling av trykkfarvene
Etter at herdeløsningene er gjort ferdige pigmen-teres de med de dispergeringsapparater som er vanlige i trykkfarveindustrien. For å oppnå dette kan organiske og uorganiske pigmenter såvel som løselige farvestoffer finne anven-deise i de mengder som er vanlige på dette område. Etter blandingen av herder- og epoxydharpiksbestanddelene i riktige blandingsforhold (se Tabell 6) fortynnes de ferdige trykkfarver avhengig av kravene til den aktuelle trykkefremgangsmåte til den riktige trykkviskositet.
Et utvalg av de således fremstilte trykkfarver ble trykket på polyethylen og aluminiumfolier ved hjelp av en handelsvanlig trykkmaskin fra valse på valse. Trykkene var fysikalsk tørre like etter fordampning av løsningsmidlet, slik at det ikke kunne observeres noen klebing eller avfar-ving av farvene på baksiden av den pårullede folie. Etter en henstand på 7 dager ved romtemperatur ble trykkene under-kastet en utførlig test som er vanlig i trykkfarveindustrien. Verdiene for de termiske holdbarhetsegenskaper er oppført i Tabell 7.
Prøve og forseglingsfasthet
Ca. 4 cm brede striper av trykk på aluminiumfolie ble foldet trykk mot trykk og forseglet mot hverandre under en belastning på 1 kg/cm 3 trykk og 1 sekunds forseglings-varighet ved stigende temperaturer fra 80 - 250° C i en Brugger-forseglingsautomat. Etter avkjøling ble strimlene foldet fra hverandre og bedømt.
Bedømmelse ved testmetoden
Som de oppnådde verdier viser, ble det ved anvendelse av kuhstharpiksblandingene ifølge oppfinnelsen som trykkfarvebindemidler oppnådd tydelig høyere varmebestandig-heter (forseglingsfastheter) enn ved de hittil kjente to-komponenttrykkfarver på epoxydharpiksbasis.
Claims (1)
- Anvendelse av en romtemperaturherdbar harpiksblanding, bestående av A) glycidylforbindelser med mer enn én epoxydgruppe pr.molekyl og epoxydverdier fra 0,4 til 0,7, og B) minst én fast kunstharpiksbestanddel med frie amino-grupper, bestående av et addukt av (1) et overskudd av et polyaminoamid av a) dimer fettsyre og b) ethylendiamin og c) minst ett alifatisk og/eller cykloalifatisk diamin som eventuelt inneholder et heteroatom som eventuelt er substituert,hvorved forholdet b) : c) ligger mellom 0,95 : 0,05 til 0,5 : 0,5 og (2 ) en glycidylforbindelse med mer enn én epoxydgruppepr. molekyl og epoxydverdier fra 0,4-0,7,hvori opp til 0,30 aminhydrogenekvivalenter av polyaminoamidet (1) er.foradduktert med glycidylforbindelsene (2) og C) et fast polyamid, bestående av a) dimer fettsyre og b) ethyldiamin og eventuelt c) minst ett alifatisk og/eller heterocyklisk diamin som eventuelt inneholder heteroatomer som eventuelt er substituertehvor forholdet b) :c) er inntil 0,5 : 0,5 ekvivalenter, og d) minst én kort, lineær, alifatisk monocarboxylsyre i mengder fra 0,4 - 0,8 ekvivalenter, beregnet på totalsyreekvivalenter, hvorved det anvendes i det vesentlige ekvivalente mengder av syre- og aminkomponenter oghvor A) og B) foreligger i i det vesentlige ekvivalente mengder og hvor forholdet A) + B) : C) er fra 9 : 1 til 1,5 : 1, som bindemiddel for trykkfarger og overtrykkslakker.
