Description

Den foreliggende oppfinnelse vedrører en fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av en forbindelsesmuffe på en ende av et rør av termoplastisk plast, hvilken forbindelsesmuffe har et avsnitt for opptak av et i denne innskyvbart andre rør og et utvidet avsnitt som er bestemt for innføring av en sveisemansjett og som sammen med det innskjøvne andre rør danner en ringspalte og hvilken sveise-mans jett har en elektrisk oppvarmbar varmetråd som tjener til oppvarming og sveising av mansjetten med røret og forbindelsesmuffen.
Forbindelsesmuffer av denne type er kjent. Det er også kjent
å anordne en metallisk varmetråd i et eget varmeinnlegg av plast og skyve dette innad i en ringformet spalte i et utvidet avsnitt i en forbindelsesmuffe. For sammensveising av de to rør kobles deretter varmetråden til en strømkilde slik at varmeinnlegget og de tilstøtende deler av de to rør blir oppvarmet til de smelter og sveises sammen.
Det har vist seg at på denne måte kan det oppnås en god sveiseforbindelse bare dersom det i tillegg til riktig sveise-varme utøves et tilstrekkelig sveisetrykk. Det er kjent å frembringe det nødvendige sveisetrykk ved å anvende kileformete sveise-hylser som inneholder varmetrådene, idet disse under sveisingen trykkes aksialt innad i forbindelsesmuffen ved hjelp av en spe-siell spennanordning.
Denne fremgangsmåte er imidlertid omstendelig og tidkrevende. Dertil kan spennanordningen overhode ikke monteres dersom forbind-elsesstedet er vanskelig tilgjengelig.
Formålet med oppfinnelsen er å frembringe en fremgangsmåte hvor det nødvendige sveisetrykk oppnås automatisk.
Dette oppnås ifølge oppfinnelsen ved at den del av forbindelsesmuffen som opptar sveisemansjetten, under oppvarming utvides radialt til minst den forutbestemte innerdiameter og avkjøles i utvidet tilstand for ved ny oppvarming å frigjøre plastens iboende krympeevne for derved å utøve sveisetrykk.
I det etterfølgende vil fremgangsmåten ifølge oppfinnelsen bli nærmere forklart under henvisning til den medfølgende tegning som viser et utførelseseksempel av en sveiseforbindelse av to plast-rør, idet: Fig. 1 viser et lengdesnitt gjennom en forbindelsesmuffe med innsatt sveisemansjett. Fig. 2 viser et riss av sveisemansjetten i utstrakt tilstand. Fig. 3 viser et riss av sveisemansjetten forut for innsetting.
Den i fig. 1 viste forbindelsesmuffe 1 befinner seg på enden av et plastrør 2 og tjener til å forbinde dette med enden av et plastrør 3. Muffen 1 er utstyrt med en kappe 4 som henger sammen med røret 2, og som har en innvendig diameter som er noe større enn den utvendige diameter til det rør 3 som skal tilkobles. Muffen 1 er dessuten utstyrt med en ringformet endedel 5, hvis innvendige diameter er noe større enn den innvendige diameter til kappen 4, slik at det ved dennes innervegg befinner seg en skulder 6.
I det ringformete rom mellom endedelen 5, røret 3 og skulderen
6 er det innlagt en sveisemansjett 7. Sveisemansjetten 7 er i fig.
2 og 3 vist atskilt. Den består av et i tverrsnitt firkantet plast-bånd 8 hvorpå det er viklet en varmetråd 9 på en slik måte at de enkelte vindinger blir liggende i avstand fra hverandre. Varme-trådens ender 9 er ført gjennom hull 10 i plastbåndet 8 og utstyrt med koblingsorganer 11.
Er røret 3, som vist i fig. 1, innsatt i muffen 1, blir kob-lingsorganene 11 forbundet med en strømkilde på kjent måte. På grunn av den varme som oppstår blir overflateområdene til-, endedelen 5, røret 3 og plastbåndet 8 brakt til å smelte og sveiset sammen med hverandre. Båndet 8 består hensiktsmessig av det samme termoplastiske plastmateriale som muffen 1 og røret 3.
Ved fremstillingen av røret 2 med muffen 1 blir endedelen 5 strukket i varm tilstand, det vil si utvidet radialt under oppvarming og deretter avkjølt i utvidet tilstand. Dette har til følge, at endedelen ved senere oppvarming for gjennomføring av sammen-sveisingen igjen trekker seg sammen og derved presser sveisemansjetten 7 fast an mot røret 3, hvorved sveiseforbindelsen blir bedret.
Muffen 1 kan selvfølgelig også være utformet som dobbeltmuffe med to sveisemansjetter. Dessuten kan på kjent måte kappen 4 dessuten være utstyrt med et ringformet spor for opptak av en elastisk tetningsring.

Claims (1)

  1. Fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av en forbindelsesmuffe på en ende av et rør av termoplastisk plast, hvilken forbindelses-muf fe har et avsnitt for opptak av et i denne innskyvbart andre rør og et utvidet avsnitt som er bestemt for innføring av en svei-semans jett og som sammen med det innskjøvne andre rør danner en ringspalte og hvilken sveisemansjett har en elektrisk oppvarmbar varmetråd som tjener til oppvarming og sveising av mansjetten med røret og med forbindelsesmuffen, karakterisert ved at den del av forbindelsesmuffen som opptar sveisemansjetten, under oppvarming utvides radialt til minst den forutbestemte innerdiameter og avkjøles i utvidet tilstand for ved ny oppvarming å frigjøre plastens iboende krympeevne, for derved å utøve sveisetrykk.
