'stånd. Härigenom har erhållits en s.k. minneseffekt hos plastmate-
rialet, som vid förnyad uppvärmning återgår till det ursprungliga,
outvidgade tillståndet och pressar den smälta svetsmanschetten
mot innanförliggande rör med ett tryck, som ger en kraftupp-
tagande och vätsketät svetsfog. g ,
Utnyttjandet av denna svetsteknik är emellertid begränsad
till rör med små dimensioner, eftersom den inlagda svetsmanschetten
och dennas upphettningsorgan måste överföra tillräcklig värme till
muffen för att denna skall krympa och smälta i erforderlig utsträckning.
Begränsningen betingas av de stora värmemängder, som måste tillföras
även relativt små muffar, vilket innebär mycket långa uppvärmnnings-
tider. Försök att tillföra stora värmemängder per tidsenhet för att
minska uppvärmningstiden medför i regel att plasten i svetsmanschetten
bränns och kommer att innehålla förkolnade partier, som spolierar
tätheten hos fogen. En annan nackdel är att svetsen blir helt stum
och rörelser mellan de båda sammansvetsade, rörformade elementen
kommer att orsaka sprickbildning och därmed läckor.
Då rör med mycket stora diametrar, exempelvis fjärr-
värmerör, som kan ha diametrar av 800 mm, är den kända metoden
icke möjlig att använda.
Det är därför ett huvudändamål med uppfinningen att
åstadkomma ett sätt och en anordning, som helt eliminerar de nämnda
problemen. I
Detta huvudändamâl förverkligas genom det sätt och den
anordning, som definieras i patentkraven.
Uppfinningen beskrives nedan genom utföringsexempel
i anslutning till bifogade ritning, på vilken
figur l är ett axiellt snitt genom tvâ rörformade
element, som skall sammansvetsas med varandra
med ntnyttjande av en anordning enligt upp-
finningen,
förenklat visar det tryckkraftalstrande organet och
är ett snitt genom organet enligt figur 2

I-figur 1 betecknar 1 ett cylindriskt rörformat element

förnätad polyeten. Röret l kan utgöras av en muff som skall samman-
svetsas med ett rör 2 av ett svetsbart termoplastmaterial.
Röret l har större diameter än det andra röret 2 varigenom bildas
en ringformad spalt 3 mellan rörändarna. I spalten 3 är införd en
svetsmanschett R. Svetsmanschetten 4 består i det på figur l visade
utföringsexemplet av en U-format böjd remsa av ett genom till-
försel av värme smältbart plastmaterial, exempelvis en icke förnätad
polyeten. Remsan har dubbelvikts så att två skänklar 5,6 erhålles,
vilka mellan sig bildar ett utrymme 7. Den ena skänkeln 5 på remsan
4, vilken remsa går runt hela den ringformade spalten 3, anligger
mot den inre ytan 8 på röret l och den andra skänkeln 6 anligger mot
den yttre ytan på röret 2. A
Det inses att om de båda skänklarna 5,6 bringas till
smält tillstånd och om de samverkande ytorna på rören åtminstone
bringas till smältningsâ kommer de båda rören 1,2 att förenas med
varandra medelst en tät vägg 9. Den valda plasten för svetsmanschetten
4 skall vara så elastisk som möjligt för att en relativ rörelse
radiellt och/eller axiellt mellan de båda rören 1.2 skall kunna
upptagas av väggen 9.
För att åstadkomma den erforderliga smältningen och
trycksvetsen av manschetten 4 åtminstone inom området för anliggning
mot de båda rören 1,2 anordnas ett tryck- och värmealstrande organ
i utrymmet 7. Den visade utföringsformen av detta organ utgöres av
en åtminstone väsentligen sluten ring 10, som består av ett rör,
vilket ursprungligen har väsentligen cirkulär tvärsnittsarea en-
ligt figur 3. Detta rör, som består av en förnätad eller oförnätad
plast, exempelvis en polyeten har på i och för sig välkänt sätt
deformerats så att dess tvärsnittsarea blivit ungefär elliptisk,
såsom visas i figur 1. Deformeringen av det ursprungligen i tvärsnitt
oirkulära röret kan ske genom att röret uppvärmes i deformerat till-
stånd och sedan får svalna under upprätthållande av det deformerande
trycketa När det sålunda deformerade röret tillföres värme kommer
materialet genom den s.k. minneseffekten att âtertaga den ursprung-
liga formen, dvs cirkulär tvärsnittsarea.
I föreliggande fall har ringens 10 area plattats till
så mycket, att svetsmanschetten och ringen lätt kan föras in i
spalten 3. För att smälta de ovan nämnda manschettpartierna, som

anligger mot de båda rören l,2 och för att tillföra tillräcklig
värme till ringen 10 är denna, såsom schematiskt visas på figur 2
lindad med en uppvärmningstråd ll med fria tilledningsändar 12,13,
avsedda att anslutas till en spänningskälla. Lindningen bör vara
så lös att ringen kan ändra sin tvärsnittsarea utan risk för att
brott skall uppstå på tråden.
Ringen 10 ligger förhållandevis väl värmeisolerad i
utrymmet 7 och har därjämte jämförelsevis liten massa, varför ned-
smältningen av svetspartierna på manschetten U och uppvärmningen av
ringen l0_i erforderlig utsträckning för att ringen skall anta
ursprunglig form sker snabbt och med förhållandevis liten tillförsel
av energi. Så snart ringen 10 börjar återta den ursprungliga formen
kommer svetsmanschettens 4 skänklar 5 och 6 att pressas mot rören
1,2 och en tät_svets erhålles, vilken dessutom är i stånd att uppta
rörelser mellan de hopsvetsade rören.
Det tryckalstrande organet behöver inte utformas av ett
rör utan kan mycket väl utgöras av en massiv stav med exempelvis
kvadratisk tvärsnittsarea i sitt ursprungliga, i värme stabila
tillstånd, vilken stav sedan deformerats så, att tvärsnittsarean
är utplattad i det värme instabila tillståndet»
Värmetillförseln för att smälta svetsmanschetten och
tillföra värme till tryckorganet kan även ske på induktiv väg,
varvid exempelvis inlägges en metallfolie mellan tryckorganet och
manschetten. Svetsmanschetten kan vidare utformas som en slang,
som omsluter tryckorganet. Slangen kan vara direkt utformad på
tryckorganet i form av en beläggning med önskad tjocklek.
I det fall man önskar en förnätning av plastmaterial i
svetsområdet mellan manschetten och röret l respektive mellan
manschetten och röret 2 kan manschetten exempelvis impregneras _
med en peroxid, som vid smältning av manschettmaterialet åstad-
kommer den önskade bryggbildningen.
Claims (8)
- 771lfl|lc1~8 P a t e n t k r a v l. Sätt att med varandra genom värmesvetsning förena två rörformade element (1,2) av ett smältbart termoplast- material, varvid det ena rörformade elementet (1) är inrättat att upptaga en ände pà det andra elementet (2) under bildning av en ringformad spalt (3) för en svetsmanschett (U) av ett smält- bart termoplastmaterial och varvid uppvärmningsorgan (ll) är anord- nade i den ringformade spalten för att upphetta och hopsvetsa svetsmanschetten med de båda rörformade elementents mot svets- manschetten vända ytor och varvid kraften från ett organ (10) av en plast, vilkets materialtillstånd är ändrat från att ursprung- ligen vara dimensionsstabilt i värme till att vara dimensionsin- stabilt i värme utnyttjas för att åstadkomma en sammanpressning av de båda rörformade elementen och svetsmanschetten, k ä n n e - t e c k n a t därav, att svetsmanschetten (U) utformas med ett inre utrymme (7), i vilket anbringas en vid tillförsel av värme S12 Uïvidíände Píníkrovv (10) och att' uppvärmníngsorgan (ll) anbringas på ringkroppens mantelyta.
- 2. Anordning för att utöva sättet enligt krav l för att med varandra genom värmesvetsning förena tvâ rörformade element (1,2 av ett smältbart termoplastmaterial, vilka element är inskñutna i varandra under bildning av en ringformad spalt (3) för en svets- manschett (H) av ett svetsbart termoplastmaterial och varvid uppvärmningsorgan (ll) finnes i spalten för att upphetta och hop- svetsa svetsmanschetten med de båda rörformade elementen och varvid kraften från organ (10) av en plast, vilkets materialtillstånd är ändrat från att ursprungligen vara dimensionsstabilt i värme till att vara dimensionsinstabilt i värme utnyttjas för att åstadkomma en sammanpressning av de båda rörformade elementen och svetsman- schetten, k ä n n e t e c k n a d därav, att svetsmanschetten (H) har ett inre utrymme (7), i vilket är anbringat en ring (10) av plast,vilkenstvärsektionsarea tryckts samman i det nämnda dimensionsinstabila tillståndet och att uppvärmningsorganen (ll) är anbringade på ringens mantelyta. _ 1?14ßA1-a É 6 r H
- 3. Anordning enligt krav 2, k ä n n e t e c k n a d därav, att svetsmanschetten (4) består av en U-format vikt, runt spalten (3) gående remsa, vilkens båda skänklar (5,6) är anordnade att anligga mot insidan på det ena rörformade elementet (l) respek- tive mot utsidan på det andra rörformade elementet (2) samt att skänklarna (5,6) mellan sig bildar nämnda utrymme (7). _
- 4. Anordning enligt krav 2, k ä n n e t e c k n a d därav, att svetsmanschetten utgöres av en slang, i vilkens inre uppvärmningsorganen och nämnda ring är anordnade. _
- 5. Anordning enligt något av kraven 2-14-, k ä n n e - t e c k n a d därav, att nämnda ring (10) är rörformad.
- 6. Anordning enligt något av kraven 2-4, k ä n n e - t e c k n a d därav, att nämnda ring är massiv.
- 7. Anordning enligt något av kraven 2-6, k ä n n e - t e c k n a d därav, att uppvärmningsorganen (ll) består av en på ringen (10) lindad värmetråd (ll) med anslutningsklämmor (l2,l3) för en spänningskälla.
