SMEERMIDDEDCCMPOSIÏIE GEBASEERD OP EEN PQLYOXXATiOffiEENVIJOEISTOF EN EEN TANDWIELKAST DIE DEZE COMPOSITIE BEVAT
De onderhavige uitvinding heeft betrekking op eau smeer-irdddelcanpos itie die als basisolie een polyoxyalkyleenvloeistof omvat, en op een tandwielkast die deze compositie bevat.
Een smeermiddel voor een tandwielkast moet onder de 5 ongunstigste omstandigheden die tijdens bedrijf van de tandwielkast worden ondervonden, kunnen funcitioneren. Het dient derhalve aan ijzer, bij aanwezigheid van zout water, goede bescherming tegen corrosie te geven, drabvrije werking bij temperaturen boven 120 °C te verzekeren, alsmede weinig schuim-10 vorming en lage wrijvingsverliezen te veroorzaken.
Het is gebleken dat aan deze eisen wordt voldaan wanneer in de polyaxyalkyleenbasisvloeistof gebruik wordt gemaakt van een speciale ccmfoinatie van toevoegsels.
Volgens de uitvinding omvat een smeermiddelcaipositie die 15 aan bovengenoemde eisen voldoet als basissmeerolie een polyoxy-alkyleenvloeistof en als toevoegsels kleine hoeveelheden van: 1) een thiodiarylamine; 2) een gealkyleerde diarylamine, en 3) een N-acylsarcosine.
20 Het gebruik van een polyoxyalkyleenvloeistof als basisolie in smeermiddeloomposities voor tandwielkasten is reeds bekend j uit het Britse octrooischrift 1.294.856. Daarin wordt vermeld j dat deze vloeistoffen in vergelijking met minerale smeeroliën bij hoge temperaturen een uitstekende oxidatiestabiliteit 25 bezitten. Verder kunnen deze composities toevoegsels bevatten zoals (1) anti-oxidanten en toevoegsels zoals (3) roestwerende en wrijving-reducerende toevoegsels.
Thans is verrassenderwijs gebleken dat door een deel van toevoegsel (1) in dergelijke composities te vervangen door 30 toevoegsel (2) uitstekende anti-asddanteiganschappen worden 9 8300983 - 2 - verkregen, en dat bij de hoge temperaturen die tijdens continubedrijf van de tandwielkasten worden ondervonden, weinig of geen drab wordt gevormd.
Geschikte polyoxyalkyleenvloeistoffen zijn copolymeren of 5 condensatieprodukten van een alkyleenoxide, in het bijzonder etheenoxide en propeenoxide, zoals beschreven in het Britse octrooischrift 1.294.856, welke bij voorkeur viscositeiten hebben van 140-230 nm2/s bij 38°C.
In de onderhavige composities is de basisvloeistof bij ΙΟ voorkeur een polyprqpeenglycol, welke bij voorkeur een moleculair-gewicht van ongeveer 2000 heeft en een viscositeit van ongeveer 160 mm2/s bij 38°C, aangezien in deze vloeistof toevoegsel (3) aan ferrcwnetalen een betere bescherming tegen corrosie geeft dan in de copolymeren van etheenoxide en propeenoxide, welke 15 volgens bovengenoemde octrooiaanvrage de voorkeur genieten.
Geschikte toevoegsels (1) worden ook in bovengenoemde octrooiaanvrage beschreven, waarbij fenothiazine en gesubstitueerde fenothiazinen, zoals gealkyleerde fenothiazinen, de voorkeur genieten.
2o Geschikte toevoegsels (2) worden beschreven in het
Amerikaanse octrooischrift 2.687.377, zoals gedialkyleerde diarylaminen, in het bijzonder gedialkyleerde difenylaminen met alkylgroepen die elk 6-30, bij voorkeur 8, kool stof atomen bezitten.
25 Toevoegsels (3) functioneren als corrosiewerende en als wrijving-reducerende toevoegsels.
Geschikte toevoegsels (3) worden beschreven in het Britse octrooischrift 1.294.856. Het bij voorkeur toegepaste toevoegsel (3) is N-oleylsarcosine, dat N-oleylmethylamino-azijnzuur is.
50 Geschikte hoeveelheden van elk van de toevoegsels (1), (2) en (3), zijn 0,01-15 gew.%, bijvoorbeeld 0,1-10 gew.%, berekend op de smeermiddelccmpositie.
Andere toevoegsels kunnen eveneens gebruikt worden, zoals verdikkingsmiddelen, bijvoorbeeld cm de onderhavige composities 55 halfvloeibaar te maken, hoge druk-toevoegsels, andere anti- * 8300983 - 3 - / _r oxldanten, wrijving-reducerende en corrosie-werende toevoegsels, metaal-desactiverende middelen, zoals triazolen, bijvoorbeeld j benztriazool, schuirwerende toevoegsels, zoals siliconenvloei- | stoffen, metaal-vrije dispergeermiddelen en metaalzouten zoals | 5 neutrale en basische Ca en/of Mg salicylaten.
De onderhavige basisoliën kunnen gemengd worden met geringe hoeveelheden van andere smeeroliën, zoals minerale of synthetische koolwaterstof oliën, hydrogenerend behandelde oliën en esteroliën.
IQ De onderhavige composities zijn bijzonder geschikt voor gebruik in wormwielkasten, maar kunnen ook gebruikt worden in andere tandwielkasten, zoals kasten met conische en hypoïd-tandwielen, en als carteroliën, als ccnpressoroliën, bijvoorbeeld van het zuigertype, voor het samendrukken van lucht of 15 aardgas, als turbine-oliën, als koelmachine-oliën, als metaal-bewerkingsoliën en als hydraulische oliën.
De volgende composities werden beproefd (hoeveelheden in gew.%):

Deze composities werden in een oxidatie-thermische stabili-teitsproef gedurende 28 dagen bij 135 °C beproefd, onder toepassing van Cu- en Fe-katalysatoren en een luchtstroansnelheid van 5 1/uur.

Claims (7)

1. Smeermiddelccmpositie omvattende als basissmeerolie een polycocyalkyleenvloeistof en als toevoegsels kleine hoeveelheden van 1. een thiodiarylamlne; 5 2) een gealkyleerde diarylamine, en 3. een N-acylsarcosine.
2. Compositie volgens conclusie 1, met het kenmerk, dat de pDlyaxyalkyleenvloeistof een polyprcpeenglycol is.
3. Compositie volgens conclusie 1 of 2, met het kenmerk, dat 10 toevoegsel {1} fenothiazine of een gesubstitueerde fenothiazine is.
4. Compositie volgens één der conclusies 1-3, met het kenmerk, dat toevoegsel (2) een gedialkyleerde difenylamine is.
5. Conpositie volgens één der conclusies 1-4, met het kenmerk, 15 dat toevoegsel (3) N-oleylsarcosine is.
