Abstract

The power unit uses the energy of a current of water in the sea, a river etc, being mounted in it or on the bank with its drive shaft slewing in a horizontal plane. This dynamo-driving shaft is coupled to a horizontal shaft with propeller blades, in the water. The latter shaft can comprise a series of tubes, each with propeller blades, and coupled together by flexible couplings or universal joints. The blades can together form a spiral ridge, and the tubes can run in bearings in floats, the latter anchored by chains or ropes to the river bed etc.
