Abstract

A craft intended for pleasure use, particularly for weekends, but which could be modified for more constant use, has a pontoon type lower structure with a cabin (13) supporting a wind driven turbine (2) rotating about a vertical shaft (5) and carrying blades (3, 4) to align it with the direction of the wind, the shaft carrying gearing (6) so that it can drive a dynamo (9) to charge its batteries (10) which power a belt (11) with blades which propels the craft. Further gears (7) can also be connected with the drive, but the turbine may charge the batteries while the craft is moored.
