Abstract

An arrangement for sealing the space between two telescopically movable, coaxial pipes comprises a compensator in the form of a bellows, which can be introduced coaxially between the two pipes. One end of the compensator has a first coupling for making a joint along the circumference of the compensator with the inner pipe. The other end has a second coupling for attaching the circumference of the compensator to the outer tube. The first coupling includes a shrink-fitted sleeve for making a sealed joint with the inner pipe, whilst the second coupling is connected to the outer pipe by welding. Effectively absorbs the axial motion between the two pipes, and excludes damp and oil from the insulating material such as calcium silicate between the two pipes whilst they are used for injecting steam intot he strate to increase oil yield.
