Abstract

An electromechanical converter which can supply electrical pulses to a receiver. The converter is actuated by a mechanical force originating for example from a keyboard. The converter (50) is mounted on an insulated support (51) such as a printed circuit board. It consists of a reciprocating shaft, one end of which acts as the control section. A spring loaded pad is fitted to the other end. There is a pair of conducting electrode sections fitted with contacts, separated by a split. There is also a flexible shorting strip for the electrode on the end of the pad. The outer layer of the shorting strip is a dielectric material and the inner layer is a conducting material.
