Abstract

1381729 Snap-action switches SUMLOCK ANITA ELECTRONICS Ltd 17 Nov 1972 [26 Nov 1971] 54945/71 Heading H1N Push-button means for operating an electrica' switch 1<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 4, of the snap-action bowed disc type comprises a pair of relatively slidable push-button members 30<SP>1</SP>, 38<SP>1</SP> connected by a spring 36 whereby the front part of the movement of the member 30<SP>1</SP> is absorbed by the spring 36 before the second member 38<SP>1</SP> moves to operate the switch l<SP>1</SP>. The coil spring 36 may be replaced by a resilient pad (not shown). The switch l<SP>1</SP> comprises a snap-action bowed disc 26 of beryllium copper which normally rests on a pair of U-shaped gold plated wires 14 soldered to the same circuit part (10), Fig. 2 (not shown), of a printed circuit boatd 6. On operation, pressure from a projection 47 on the second push-button member 38<SP>1</SP> acts through an adhesive sheet 28 of transparent insulating material. The actuator may be of the latched "push on" "push off" type.
