Abstract

1308692 Mechanical switches SUMLOCKANITA ELECTRONICS Ltd 19 April 1971 [1 April 1970] 15434/70 Heading H1N A switch actuator assembly 1, 15, Fig. 5, for directly mounting on the substrate material 3 of a printed circuit board as by resilient lugs 19 inserted through slots 25, Fig. 2, has a projection 41 engageable with a spring contact 7 associated with one part 13 of the conducting material on the substrate 3 and moved to engage a rivet contact 5 associated with a second part 9 of conducting material. In the example the push button operator 35 is guided on an integral extension (39), Fig. 4 (not shown), in a bush 27 integral with the mounting 15, the actuating projection 41 lying parallel to the extension (39) between legs (31) extending integrally from the bush 27 and acting as limit stops. The spring contact 7 has a bent up end with lugs (12), Fig. 3 (not shown )which are inserted through apertures in the substrate for peening over and soldering to the circuit member 13. In a modification the actuator is a rocker 45, Fig. 9, having a projecting member 47 engageable with the contact blade spring 7. The actuator may be retractive or may be located in its on and off positions by a spring loaded plunger (60), Fig. 10 (not shown) on the rocker 45 and which rides over to one or other side of a projection 64 on the base of the actuator support 15<SP>1</SP>.
