Abstract

The rear-loading motor vehicle (1) for transporting an invalid in a wheel chair has twin torsion bars with shock absorbers (3) at the rear. an hydraulic system (7-10) is provided which is capable of supplying high pressure oil to the space above the shock absorber pistons, thereby removing the two ends of the absorber together thus bringing the floor level (2) of the vehicle down. The floor of the vehicle is deepened by an account which just maintains the necessary ground clearance (A) of the vehicle. The hydraulic system pref comprises an electric motor (7) fed from the battery and during the oil pump, and oil receiver (8), and supply and return lines (9, 10) towards and away from the shock absorbers.
