Abstract

The arrangement is intended for reciprocating piston engines with connection rod (1) driving a crankshaft. An eccentric is interposed between the con-rod and the shaft. Gear teeth (2a) are provided on the crankshaft and gear teeth (2b) on the eccentric. The gear transmission ratio may be 1 to 1 or a different ratio. It is claimed that the arrangement reduces fuel consumption and/or eliminates the need for superchanging. The system is effective for all types of petrol or diesel cylinder motors. In a typical cycle, the driving pulse operates during 240 deg. of the crank shaft rotation and the compression pulse during 120 deg. Extra air is fed in to feed the pistons during the pulse cycle.
