Abstract

The rotary combustion engine comprises at least one cylindrical housing with inlet, exhaust and ignition means, also a cylindrical rotor containing a radial cylinder, a crankshaft in the housing and co-axial with the rotor, pistons reciprocating in the cylinder and linked to crank pins of the crankshaft, and a gear transmission. This gearing comprises a first gear wheel connected with the rotor, a second gear wheel on the crankshaft, and a further gear wheel meshing with the first and second gears. The arrangement is such that the crankshaft and the rotor rotate in opposite directions at equal speed.
