Abstract
The apparatus comprises a housing, a motor mounted inside it, and fitted with a vertical drive-shaft, a rotatable dust-collector disc fitted horizontally to the shaft and rotatable with it. The housing walls, the housing flow and the disc form a cooling chamber, and a collector chamber is formed by the disc and an assembly mounted above the disc. The two chambers are connected by a conduit running between the disc and the side walls of the housing. The cover has a gas inlet aperture, and gas impinges on the collector surface and the disc. The gas-stream is heated as it traverser the inlet in the cover. The disc is cooled by means of gas and cooling air being sucked out via an outlet conduit adjacent to the lower face of the disc.
