Abstract
1319370 Centrifugal separator WIBE LUFTUND WARMETECHNIK GmbH 3 Sept 1971 41282/71 Headings BIT and B2P A separator for removing solids from a gas comprises a chamber 4 in which' are located two adjacent ducts 1, 8 extending through a wall of the chamber, a suction device 3 arranged to draw gas containing solid material into the chamber 4 through one of said ducts (duct 1) during operation while allowing gas to leave the chamber through the other duct (duct 8) and a guide member 6 for the solid material located at the periphery of the chamber and around the ducts 1, 8 and leading to an outlet 7 in the chamber for the solid material. The suction device 3 is a radial fanwheel driven by a motor 2 located outside the chamber. The separator may be used for removing shavings, sawdust and other small pieces of wood from air in workshops. In operation, solids are deposited on the guide member 6 by centrifugal force and led by the member to outlet 7 which may be connected with a shavings bin. Separated air containing fine dust is led via the duct 8 to an outlet 9 and conveyed back to the workshop after passing through a filter. (For Figure see next column)
