Abstract

The transducer consists of two sensing components (9, 10), a current mirror circuit (11) and a current source (18). The sensors consist of NPN transistors, each of which is strapped as a diode, i.e. with the bases connected directly to the collectors. The current mirror circuit consists of five PNP transistors (16, 17, 18, 19, 20). The five bases of the transistors are linked together. The emitters are all commoned and connected to the positive d.c. supply. The collectors of four of the five transistors are connected to the wipers of mechanical switches (21, 22, 23, 24). The switches can select one of the sensors or the other. The mechanical switches can be replaced by electronic FET switches operated by an oscillator.
