Abstract

The present invention provides a method for making reinforced concrete structure, including the steps of: (a) preparing a concrete mixture characterized by cement, coarse aggregates, lignin-rich fine aggregates and water; (b) placing the concrete mixture into desired piling-shape mould in at least two layers, a first layer of concrete mixture is added to the mould and compacted, adding the second layer of concrete mixture on top of the first layer and subjecting it to compaction; and adding a subsequent layer on top of the earlier layer followed by compaction until the mould is completely filled; (c) covering the mould with a wet fabric; (d) leaving the mould at room temperature, (e) removing the formed concrete structure from the mold, and (f) subjecting the concrete structure to curing, wherein the cement, coarse aggregates and lignin-rich fine aggregates are at a weight mix ratio of 1:1:1, and wherein the lignin-rich fine aggregates are a mixture of endocarp particles which are crushed and sieved dried coconut shell to particle size of 0.06mm ? 2 mm.
