Abstract

COMMON DAMAGE TO MOTOR-VEHICLE WHEELS STEMS FROM THE FACT THAT, DURING PARKING, THE DRIVER TOUCHES THE KERB WITH THE OUTWARDLY DIRECTED SIDE OF THE WHEEL. THE TYRE, WHICH GENERALLY PROTECTS THE MOTOR VEHICLE DUE TO ITS RELATIVELY LARGE WIDTH, IS OFTEN DEFORMED TO SUCH A PRONOUNCED EXTENT, WHEN THE WHEEL TOUCHES THE KERB, THAT THE OUTER SIDE OF THE RIM FLANGE SCRAPES AGAINST THE KERB AND IS THEREBY DAMAGED. THE INVENTION PROVIDES A MOTOR-VEHICLE WHEEL (11) HAVING AN ANNULAR DEVICE (13), WHICH ANNULAR DEVICE (13) AT LEAST PARTIALLY COVERS OVER THE VISIBLE SIDE OF THE RIM FLANGE (18). SINCE THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE ANNULAR DEVICE (13) AND THE WHEEL (11) CAN BE RELEASED, THE ANNULAR DEVICE (13) CAN BE EASILY EXCHANGED AFTER DAMAGE HAS OCCURRED, AND THE WHEEL (11) LOOKS AS GOOD AS NEW AGAIN.
