Abstract

A MOTORCYCLE IS RESTRAINED FROM STARTING IN A STATE WHERE THE SIDE STAND IS NOT RETRACTED AND THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT PLACED IN THE NEUTRAL.@[ CONSTITUTION ] A SIDE STAND POSITION DETECTOR (2) DETECTS THE POSITION OF THE SIDE STAND, AND A GEAR RATIO DETECTOR (4) DETECTS THE POSITION IN WHICH THE TRANSMISSION (3) IS PLACED. AN IGNITION UNIT (16) IS PROVIDED WITH A STALLING ENGINE SPEED DETECTOR (9) THAT DETECTS THE INCREASE OF THE ENGINE SPEED. OF THE ENGINE (7) TO AN ENGINE SPEED AT WHICH THE AUTOMATIC CENTRIFUGAL CLUTCH (8) IS ENGAGED. WHEN THE SIDE STAND IS NOT RETRACTED, THE TRANSMISSION (3) IS NOT PLACED IN THE NEUTRAL, AND A START INHIBITING MODE DETECTOR (10) DETECTS THE INCREASE OF THE ENGINE SPEED OF THE ENGINE (7) NEAR TO AN ENGINE SPEED AT WHICH THE AUTOMATIC CENTRIFUGAL CLUTCH (8) IS ENGAGED, AN IGNITION CONTROL CIRCUIT (11) EXECUTES AN IGNITION CYCLE SKIP CONTROL OPERATION FOR SKIPPING IGNITION CYCLES TO SUPPRESS THE INCREASE OF THE ENGINE SPEED OF THE ENGINE (7).@@(FIGURE 1)
