Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a aparato para controlar un sistema de corriente alterna que incluye una línea de transmisión que porta corriente alterna a un voltaje de línea de transmisión, y frecuencia fundamental, dicho aparato comprende: medios convertidores de potencia de conmutación que generan un voltaje alterno a dicha frecuencia fundamental de la corriente alterna con una magnitud controlable y un ángulo de fase controlable entre -90 grados eléctricos y +90 grados eléctricos con respecto a la corriente alterna para proporcionar compensación reactiva ajustable y potencia real positiva ajustable; medios para acoplar el voltaje generado por dichos medios convertidores de conmutación en la línea de transmisión para inyectar la compensación reactiva ajustable y la potencia real ajustable en la línea de transmisión; y en serie con el voltaje de la línea de transmisión; y medios rectificadores conectados en derivación a la línea de transmisión y con el convertidor de potencia de conmutación para proporcionar dicha potencia real positiva con los medios de convertidor de potencia de conmutación.
