Abstract

La invencion se refiere a un procedimiento continuo de preparacion de lactato de etilo por medio de la esterificacion de acido lactico utilizando etanol en presencia de un catalizador. El metodo consiste en extraer de forma continua una mezcla que comprende lactato de etilo, etanol, agua y diferentes productos pesados a partir de un medio de reaccion de esterificacion a una tasa de conversion parcial del acido lactico y posteriormente sometiendo esa mezcla a una separacion flash a presion reducida, de tal modo, que se produzca una corriente arriba conteniendo una mezcla de lactato de etilo, etanol, agua y en la parte inferior de la mezcla se provee una columna de la destilacion fraccionada.
