Abstract
Se proporciona un metodo y aparato acompanante para el uso eficiente de recursos de comunicacion en un sistema de comunicacion CDMA controlando una fuente de transmision (300) para transmitir un paquete de datos sobre un cuadro de datos a una primera velocidad de datos y a un nivel de potencia y retransmitir el paquete de datos a una segunda velocidad de datos sobre al menos dos cuadros de datos al nivel de potencia cuando un destino receptor falla en descodificar el paquete de datos. Un selector de la velocidad de datos y el nivel de potencia (303) selecciona la segunda velocidad de datos menor que la primera velocidad de datos. El selector de velocidad de datos y nivel de potencia (303) determina la energia por bit del paquete de datos en una relacion de la primera y segunda velocidades de datos, y selecciona la segunda velocidad de datos de la relacion, de modo que la energia determinada por bit este a un nivel minimo.
