Abstract

La presente invencion se refiere a un procedimiento para la purificacion de titania que consiste en tratar la titania con una solucion acuosa que comprende uno o mas compuestos de amonio a temperaturas elevadas, separar la titania de la solucion acuosa, secar la titania y, opcionalmente, calcinar la titania seca. Mas especialmente la invencion se refiere a la eliminacion del azufre (presente principalmente en forma de compuestos de sulfato) de la titania. La titania purificada de conformidad con el procedimiento indicado precedentemente es especialmente adecuada para uso como portador del catalizador.
