Abstract

Se proporciona un fluido no acuoso de transferencia de calor con base en alcohol polihidrico de toxicidad reducida, el cual comprende al menos un alcohol polihidrico que actua como un inhibidor de enzima ADH, tal como, por ejemplo, propilen glicol, por lo que se reduce la toxicidad del etilen glicol es etilen glicol. El fluido de transferencia de calor puede incluir tambien inhibidores de corrosion que son solubles en los alcoholes polihidricos usados para el fluido de transferencia de calor. El fluido de transferencia de calor puede ser usado como un enfriador en motores de combustion interna, tales como motores de automoviles, un enfriador para enfriar componentes electricos o electronicos, como un fluido de transferencia de calor para calentar agua con energia solar, o un fluido de transferencia de calor para mantener temperaturas en procesos industriales.
