Abstract
Se describe un metodo para la recuperacion de acido tereftalico cristalino contiene menos de 150 ppmw de acido p-toluico, al someter una solucion de acido tereftalico que contiene cantidades menores de acido p-toluico a cristalizacion en una zona de cristalizacion que comprende a una pluralidad de cristalizadores conectados en serie, en donde la solucion es sometida al enfriamiento por evaporacion de proporcion controlada mediante la reduccion secuencial en la presion y la temperatura para ocasionar la cristalizacion del acido tereftalico, en donde la presion de la solucion al final de la zona de cristalizacion es a presion ambiental o menor. El solvente que es evaporado de los cristalizadores es recolectado y condensado, y el solvente condensado es regresado a la zona de cristalizacion en un punto subsecuente del cristalizador del cual se obtuvo.
