Abstract
En el sistema de la presente invencion, los paquetes (25) se colocan aleatoriamente en una banda transportadora (27), con sus etiquetas que dan hacia un sub-montaje (12) de dos camaras. Conforme se mueve la banda transportadora (27) , el sub-montaje (12) de dos camaras toma continuamente imagenes de la banda por debajo de la camara a lo alto. El diseno de la camara permite que tome una imagen de alta resolucion de un flujo no individualizado ni alineado de los paquetes. Entonces se transfiere una imagen digital de los paquetes dentro del campo de vision de la camara al sistema de procesamiento para el analisis. El sistema de procesamiento identifica los paquetes individuales (25) en la imagen, los extrae y entonces analiza la informacion escrita en las etiquetas de los paquetes. El proceso de analisis utiliza tecnicas convencionales de Reconocimiento de Caracteres Opticos (OCR) y de Reconocimiento Inteligente de Caracteres (ICR) para evaluar la informacion escrita en la etiqueta del paquete. Una vez que se descodifica la informacion, el sistema ya sea tiene acceso a un registro de base de datos asociado con el codigo descodificado, leible por maquina, o crea un nuevo registro. Cuando se encuentra una imagen de una palabra desconocida, el proceso de reconocimiento especifico del campo se auxilia por el uso de informacion de lexico, optimizado en base a criterios especificos de la instalacion o especificos del usuario. La informacion de lexico se revisa continuamente en base a la informacion de la forma procesada.
