Abstract
La presente invencion se refiere a un aparato y a un metodo para extraer y deshidratar escoria proveniente de un sistema de gasificacion. En particular, la presente invencion se refiere a una tolva transportadora y a un metodo para el uso de la tolva transportadora, para recolectar escoria y otros subproductos de desecho provenientes del gasificador de un sistema de gasificacion. La tolva transportadora esta configurada para recibir escoria de un gasificador, para extraer y deshidratar simultaneamente la escoria, y para expulsar la escoria procesada, directamente en un recipiente recolector de transporte, apropiado para transportar la escoria procesada hasta un sitio lejano. La tolva transportadora comprende en general un alojamiento con valvulas de entrada y salida, para recibir y expulsar escoria, respectivamente. El alojamiento esta inclinado con un angulo tipicamente de entre 5 y 60 grados con respecto a la horizontal, de manera tal que la salida se encuentra a una elevacion mayor que la entrada. Dentro del alojamiento, un tornillo de Arquimedes o mecanismo de transporte similar, transporta la escoria desde la entrada hacia la salida, mientras deshidrata simultaneamente la escoria. Como un resultado, la escoria procesada que es descargada en la salida, se encuentra totalmente procesada y lista para ser transportada hacia un sitio lejano.
