Abstract
Sin embargo, ahora se ha encontrado que es posible extender sustancialmente las duraciones utiles de partes ceramicas utilizadas, mientras se sumergen en vidrio fundido, para producir articulos utiles a partir de vidrio fundido. Las duraciones utiles de las partes ceramicas se extienden sustancialmente por recubrimiento de todas las superficies en contacto con vidrio fundido, de cada articulo, con un par superpuesto de estos recubrimientos, cada uno de tales recubrimientos se aplica en una capa muy delgada. La parte mas interior o base del recubrimiento en contacto con la parte ceramica, la cual unicamente necesita aplicarse con un espesor de aproximadamente 0.05 mm (0.002 pulgadas), es un recubrimiento de polvo compuesto que esta constituido de un polvo compuesto de niquel cromo-aluminio-colbalto-itria. Tal polvo de recubrimiento esta disponible de Metco Division de Perkin-Elmer Corporation, con oficinas generales en Westbury, Long Island, New York, bajo su designacion de producto Metco 461. La parte de base recubierta son ceramica despues se recubre adicionalmente, hasta un espesor aproximado de 0.15 mm (0.006 pulgadas), con un recubrimiento de polvo que esta constituido de una prealeacion de oxido de zirconia estabilizada con ceria-itria, la cual tambien esta disponible de Metco Division de Perkin-Elmer Corporation, y este polvo de recubrimiento se ofrece bajo la designacion de producto polvo Metco 205 NS. Se considera que el recubrimiento de base, el cual sirve como un recubrimiento unido para el recubrimiento superior, y el recubrimiento superior para cada una de las partes ceramicas recubiertas interactuara con la parte ceramica, despues de que se calienta cuando la parte se coloca en produccion, para elaborar un recubrimiento altamente resistente y de alta tenacidad. Tal recubrimiento tambien produce una barrera termica entre el material ceramico y el vidrio fundido, y esta barrera termica protege la parte ceramica, por lo que se reduce el choque termico a la misma y alivia la presentacion de fracturas. En consecuencia, un objetivo de la presente invencion es proporcionar partes ceramicas con duracion prolongada para uso, mientras se sumergen o se sumergen parcialmente, en vidrio fundido, en la elaboracion de articulos a partir de vidrio fundido. Tambien es un objetivo de la presente invencion proporcionar un metodo para tratar partes ceramicas para elaboracion de vidrio las cuales prolonguen la duracion util de tales partes, sin importar que tales partes sean utilizadas, mientras se sumergen o se sumergen parcialmente en vidrio fundido, el cual de otra manera es altamente abrasivo a tales partes ceramicas. Para una comprension mas amplia de la presente invencion y los objetivos de la misma, se dirige la atencion al dibujo y a la siguiente descripcion breve de la misma, de la descripcion detallada de la invencion y a las reivindicaciones anexas.
