Abstract
The present invention refers to a fungicide and bactericide composition for the treatment of plants diseases, consisting of prehydrated copper sulphate, gentamicin and oxytetracycline, or any of their salts.
Description
FUNGICIDE AND BACTERICIDE COMPOSITION FOR USE ON PLANTS
Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a fungicidal and bactericidal composition for the treatment or prophylaxis of plant diseases.
Background of the Invention Plant diseases have been one of the limiting factors in the production of crops.
Among the most important phytopathogens are those caused by fungi, viruses and bacteria. Undoubtedly one of the main methods of control is the use of chemical compounds, such as fungicides and antibiotics. On the other hand, it is increasingly common the use of antibiotics in agriculture to control diseases caused by bacteria. Copper sulfate pentahydrate is perhaps one of the most used due to its great capacity as a fungicide compound. Currently there are products based on copper sulphate as well as different antibiotics such as gentamicin sulfate, oxytetracycline hydrochloride and streptomycin sulfate, which have been recommended for the control of fungi and bacteria, respectively.
There are products based on copper sulfate pentahydrate alone, which control fungi such as gray mold, late blight, sooty mold, scab, gummosis, etc. Some examples are: "PHYTON 27" from Distribuciones IMEX SA de CV, and "SULCOBRE" of Internacional Química del Cobre SA de CV. i On the other hand, there is a commercial product based on gentamicin sulphate and oxytetracycline hydrochloride, only recommended for the control of bacteria, its commercial name is "BACTROL" marketed by BASF Mexicana S.A. of C.V. However, there is currently no combination of the fungicide copper sulfate pentahydrate and the bactericides gentamicin and oxytetracycline or any salt thereof, which in the proper proportions has a synergistic effect in the treatment or prophylaxis of plant diseases. Whereby, a product that combines these ingredients will be very useful in combating these diseases, since it can allow the user to save on the purchase of products separately, in addition that the composition of the present invention is provided in a suitable concentration to obtain a synergic effect of the components, thus avoiding the user the risk of making mistakes in the proportions of each one, with the consequent failures in the result

Description of the Invention An object of the present invention is to provide a fungicidal and bactericidal composition for use in the treatment of plant diseases. This composition, which would be unique in the market, combines the fungicidal properties of copper sulphate pentahydrate (80%) plus the bactericidal action of the antibiotics gentamicin sulfate (2%) and oxytetracycline hydrochloride (6%), which act as a synergistic form in the treatment or prophylaxis of plant diseases. This composition will be very useful for the farmer, since with a single product it controls pathogenic bacteria and fungi very common in crops where this product will be recommended, in addition that the ingredients act synergistically in the treatment of plant diseases. The product of the applicant uniquely combines the bactericidal and fungicidal properties of a mixture of three active ingredients, avoiding the need for the user to purchase the products separately, in addition that the composition herein provides, in the established proportions, an effect synergy of the active ingredients in the treatment of diseases of
plants - The composition of the present invention will offer in a single product the three ingredients perfectly balanced in a formulation of superior quality, thus obtaining a synergistic effect thereof, which ensures the proper functioning in the control of fungi and bacteria. The doses and indications of appropriate use for the control of fungi and bacteria will be copper sulfate pentahydrate 80%, equivalent to 800 gr. per kilogram; 6% oxtetracycline hydrochloride equivalent to 60 gr. per kilogram and 2% gentamicin sulfate equivalent to 20 gr. per kilogram.
Claims (5)
- CLAIMS 1. A composition consisting of copper sulfate pentahydrate, gentamicin and oxytetracycline or any salt thereof which has a synergistic effect in the treatment or prophylaxis of plant diseases.
- 2. A composition for the treatment of plants according to claim 1, wherein the concentration of copper sulphate pentahydrate is 80%.
- 3. A composition for the treatment of plants according to claim 1, wherein the concentration of gentamicin or any salt thereof is 2%.
- 4. A composition for the treatment of plants according to claim 1, wherein the concentration of oxytetracycline or any salt thereof is 6%.
- 5. A composition for the treatment of plants according to claim 1, wherein the composition serves for the fungicidal and bactericidal treatment of plants.
