Abstract

Se proporciona un sistema y un metodo para monitorear equipo remoto, tal como equipo HVAC. Un detector esta en comunicacion con una pieza de equipo remoto y un transmisor local puede estar conectado al detector. Una unidad de interfaz (10), que tiene un mecanismo generador de mensajes y, en forma opcional, una antena, tiene la capacidad de recibir señales desde los detectores de las diversas piezas del equipo, formando una red local. La unidad de interfaz esta provista de un controlador logico programable que ejecuta operaciones o expresiones Booleanas sobre las señales recibidas por medio de los detectores. Un servidor de computadora central esta en comunicacion con la unidad de interfaz y esta adaptada para recibir y , de preferencia, almacenar los mensajes generados por la unidad de interfaz. Cuando un detector detecta una condicion de excepcion en una pieza de equipo remoto, el detector transmite una señal a la unidad de interfaz y la unidad de interfaz genera un mensaje entrante de excepcion y envia el mensaje al servidor.
