Abstract
La invencion se refiere a un procedimiento para la produccion de metal desde materiales formados de mineral metálico. Durante ese proceso un gas de carga o aplicacion conteniendo CO y H2 proveniente de una fuente de gas (A, B) es comprimido, opcionalmente sometido a la eliminacion CO2 y calentamiento y suministrado como gas de reduccion a una zona de reduccion (21). Después de la reaccion con el mineral metálico, el gas de aplicacion es retirado de la zona de reduccion (21) en forma de un gas de exportacion para usarse más por un consumidor. Para que la zona de reduccion reciba suficiente gas de reduccion aun si se presenta algun incidente interruptor, un gas de aplicacion conteniendo CO y H2 y originándose de cuando menos dos fuentes de gas (A, B) se suministra a la zona de reduccion como gas de reduccion y al fallar una de las fuentes de gas (a, B) esto se compensa porque cuando menos una parte del gas de exportacion, que se origina de la zona de reduccion (21) se recircula, sometiéndose al gas de exportacion a compresion, eliminacion del CO2 y opcionalmente calentamiento, y enviándose a la zona de reduccion (21) junto con el gas de aplicacion originado en la otra fuente intacta de gas (A o B).
