Abstract

Una sonda optica recolecta luz que emana de un espécimen que representa en forma selectiva y preferencial un elemento de volumen localizado dentro de una muestra, con intensidad de iluminacion y eficacia de recoleccion que se retiran ambas del elemento de volumen localizado, para limitar la contribucion integrada desde fuera del elemento. Por ejemplo, los componentes opticos proporcionan alta iluminacion de pico y alta eficiencia de recoleccion, que ambas se traslapan en elementos de volumen de un tamaño limitado que corresponde a una estructura o proceso del espécimen. La señal recolectada resultante comprende uno o más segmentos espectrales se correlaciona altamente con características opticas tales como absorbencia, dispersion o características de fluorescencia del material en pequeños elementos de volumen. Un procesador puede aplicar una transformada de matriz o vector previamente derivado a las respuestas recolectadas, para producir una salida. Los espectros recolectados u otras respuestas tienen alta intensidad de señal y representan efectos opticos pequeños o de otra forma inaccesibles o enmascarados presentes en la muestra, de manera tal que se correlacionen fácilmente a condiciones de interés.
