Abstract

Un sistema de enfriamiento para electrodos (11) en hornos de arco eléctrico de corriente directa, comprendiendo los electrodos (11) una parte (11a) sometida al medio ambiente caliente del horno, haciéndose esta parte de grafito en el caso de un cátodo, y de cobre en el caso de un ánodo, estando la parte (11a) asociada con una parte metálica (11b) por medio de una junta (13) que incluye adentro de la misma un hueco (14), que comprende cuando menos en correspondencia con la parte metálica (11b), un circuito de enfriamiento (20) con cuando menos un canal de entrega (15), un canal de retorno (16), y un intercambiador de calor (18), utilizando el circuito (20) metal líquido como un fluido de enfriamiento, incluyéndose también un elemento para la circulacion forzada del fluido de enfriamiento, el cual consiste en una bomba hidromagnética (17).
