Abstract
Se da a conocer un polvo compuesto adaptado especialmente para usarse en la sinterizacion de láser selectiva. El polvo compuesto incluye un polvo polimérico mezclado en seco con un polvo de refuerzo, en donde el polvo polimérico tiene una temperatura de fusion considerablemente menor que aquélla del polvo de refuerzo. En el caso en donde van a formarse piezas casi completamente densas, el primer polvo constituyente de preferencia es un polvo semicristalino, por ejemplo, nylon 11 de una composicion apropiada para formar piezas casi completamente densas cuando se usa sin combinar en la sinterizacion de láser selectiva; si se desean piezas porosas, el polvo polimérico es un polvo amorfo tal como policarbonato, poliestireno, acrilatos, copolímeros de estireno/acrilato. El polvo de refuerzo está constituido de preferencia de microesferas de vidrio, de preferencia revestidas para mejorar el humedecimiento y adhesion con el polvo polimérico cuando se lleva a cabo la sinterizacion de láser selectiva. Además de mejorar la rigidez y resistencia al calor de la pieza producida, el polvo compuesto amplía la ventana del proceso en relacion con aquélla que se proporciona mediante el polvo no combinado, proporciona exactitud dimensional mejorada en la pieza producida y facilita el desprendimiento brusco y el acabado liso o uniforme de la pieza productiva.
