Abstract

La presente invencion se refiere a un catalizador para el procedimiento de limpieza de gases de escape bajo presion, como se producen después de la oxidacion de paraxileno, (p-x) con aire en fase líquida, durante la obtencion de dimetiltereftalato (DMT), el cual contiene como componentes a) al menos un oxido de titanio y b) al menos un elemento del grupo secundario VIII del Sistema Periodico de Elementos en forma metálica y/u oxídica, a un procedimiento para la obtencion de un catalizador, en donde el componente b) se aplica sobre cuerpos moldeados, que contiene al menos el componente a), individualmente o en mezcla, mediante impregnacion por inmersion y/o por rociado, y a un procedimiento para la limpieza de gases de escape bajo presion, como se producen después de la oxidacion de paraxileno (p-x) con aire en fase líquida, durante la obtencion de dimetiltereftalato (DMT), en donde el gas de escape bajo presion, que contiene oxigeno, de la oxidacion, se hace pasar primero por una condensacion de una o varias etapas, una absorcion de una o varias etapas y, a continuacion, dado el caso bajo alimentacion de oxigeno, por una incineracion catalítica ulterior operada bajo presion, en donde, para la incineracion catalítica ulterior, se emplea el presente catalizador.
