Abstract
Un método y aparato para convertir una imagen de entrada incluyendo una pluralidad de pixeles de entrada, cada uno tiene un numero de posibles niveles de entrada de densidad optica a una imagen que incluye una pluralidad de pixeles de salida, cada uno tiene un numero de niveles de salida posibles de densidad optica, utilizando niveles de salida de definicion de impresion en una técnica de difusion de error, una técnica de aumento de imagen automática, u otros métodos de impresion y aparatos en donde los errores son retroalimentados para alterar la imagen de entrada. El método incluye generar un valor de densidad optica modificado adicionando un calor de error, si lo hay, al nivel de entrada de uno de los pixeles de entrada, generando un nivel de salida de definicion de impresion como una funcion del nivel de densidad optica modificado, determinar el valor de error como una funcion del nivel de salida de definicion de impresion seleccionado y generar un pixel de salida que tiene uno de los niveles de salida determinados como una funcion del valor de densidad optica modificado.
