Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain reproducing pictures of a high pocture quality even for pictures including half-tone, by using the density level, which is obtained by averaging picture elements around the object picture element, as the output density of every picture element coded to a binary when an image is reproduced in the receiving side. CONSTITUTION:The image obtained by making densities of the original picture into binaries by the organic dither method is transmipted. In the receiving side, the density level obtained by averaging picture elements around the object picture element is output as the output density for each picture element coded into a binary. That is, output density value S of picture element E is determined by S=C1(A+ B+C+D+E+F+G+H+I). Here, C1 is equal to 4/9.
