Abstract

A colour printing process previewer comprises a scanning section for generating Y, M and C image signals by scanning a colour original, a masking circuit for correcting the colour components contained in said image signals, a U.C.R. circuit for subjecting said Y, M and C image signals to the under-colour removal of BI image signal, clip circuits for clipping the portions of said image signals above about 100% level, a gradation correcting circuit for correcting the gradations of said image signals, colour correcting circuits for removing some degree of secondary and tertiary colour components or secondary, tertiary and quaternary colour components that are contained in said Y, M and C image signals, a matrix circuit for converting said Y, M, C, and BI image signals into R, B and G image signals, and a colour monitor for representing the image of said R, B and G image signals on a screen. The scanning section includes a single camera, and the Y, M and C image signals are sequentially obtained by scanning with changing filter elements, the image signals being sequentially memorized into a memory device from which they are read simultaneously.
