Abstract
Una reaccion de dos etapas para la produccion de acero a partir de carburo de fierro se lleva a cabo en dos reactores separados pero interrelacionados (1,36), en el primer reactor (1), carburo de fierro, con formadores de escoria, se alimenta a un extremo de alimentacion (2) y la reaccion se mezcal bien por la geometría del recipiente, la accion de agitacion de inyeccion de oxígeno y material de alimentacion de carburo de fierro desde abajo de la superficie, y el desprendimiento de gases desde el baño de metal líquido (9); el producto, que contiene aproximadamente 0.5-2% de carbono, se alimenta al segundo reactor (36) en donde es refinado con oxígeno inyectado por abajo de la superficie; la segunda reaccion es autogena, y el monoxido de carbono despedido es alimentado al primer reactor (1) en donde es quemado con oxígeno en una escoria espumosa, que con quemado de postcombustion en la escoria de CO despedido en el primer reactor (1), y con precalentamiento de carburo de fierro con el que la reaccion también sea esencialmente autogena.
