Abstract

Un aparato capaz de proporcionar refrigeracion y/o congelamiento rápidos comprende un gabinete o contenedor que tiene una cámara (26) de refrigeracion, uno o más reactores (14, 32, 42) de los que cada uno contiene un compuesto complejo formado por la adsorcion de gas polar sobre una sal metálica, en donde el gas polar se adsorbe y desorbe alternadamente sobre el compuesto complejo, y en donde el compuesto complejo se forma restringiendo su expansion volumétrica y controlando su densidad durante la adsorcion del gas polar sobre la sal metálica, mediante lo cual el compuesto complejo es capaz de adsorber el gas polar a una tasa de más de 15 moles por mol hora del compuesto complejo, en aproximadamente 20 minutos o menos, un condensador (16) para condensar el gas polar, un evaporador (20) térmicamente expuesto a la cámara de refrigeracion, para proporcionar enfriamiento en ella, y conductos (17, 18, 22, 29) y una o más válvula (13, 23, 25, 27) para dirigir el gas polar desde uno o más reactores (14) al condensador (16), del condensador (16) al evaporador (20), y del evaporador (20) al o a los reactores.
