Abstract

La presente invencion se relaciona con un proceso para la preparacion de un látex de un polímero elastomérico hidrogenado que comprende: (1) combinar un polímero insaturado en forma de látex con (a) un oxidante que se selecciona del grupo que consiste de oxígeno, aire e hidroperoxido; (b) un agente reductor que se selecciona de hidrazina e hidratos de la misma; y (c) un activador de ion de metal; (2) calentar la mezcla a una temperatura de 0 degree C hasta la temperatura de reflujo de la mezcla de reaccion; (3) tratar la mezcla con ozono en una cantidad y bajo condiciones que son suficientes para que el ozono reaccione con la insaturacion del polímero residual para formar un látex ozonado de un polímero elastomérico que tiene por lo menos un grupo de aldehído terminal; (4) tratar el látex ozonado con hidroxilamina en una cantidad y bajo condiciones que son suficientes para convertir los grupos terminales de aldehído del polímero elastomérico en grupos terminales de oxima para formar un látex de polímero oximado.
