Abstract
Un procedimiento regioselectivo para sintetizar cualquier eniantomero de cis-1-amino-2-indanol o mezcla de dichos eniantomeros, dicho procedimiento reteniendo substancialmente la integridad estereoquímica del enlace carbono-oxígeno en C-2 en el material de partida de oxido de indeno, caracterizado porque el procedimiento comprende los pasos de: (a) proveer un equivalente de oxido de indeno disuelto en un solvente y opcionalmente un cosolvente, dicho solvente seleccionado de alquilnitrilo o arilnitrilo; (b) mezclar en el mismo aproximadamente dos equivalentes de un ácido, dicho ácido seleccionado de un ácido práctico fuerte o un ácido de Lewis o un ácido orgánico, y manteniendo posteriormente la temperatura de la mezcla resultante ente alrededor de -70 degree C y aproximadamente +30 degree C durante un periodo de entre alrededor de 0.25 horas y aproximadamente 6.0 horas; (c) añadir exceso de agua para efectuar hidrolisis, y agitar durante un periodo de entre alrededor de 0.5 horas y aproximadamente 8.0 horas, a una temperatura de entre alrededor de 25 degree C y aproximadamente 100 degree C, para dar el eniantomero correspondiente de cis-1-amino-2-indanol, o una mezcla de dichos eniantomeros.
