Abstract

La invencion se refiere a la leche de un mamífero transgénico, que no es un ser humano. La leche se caracteriza porque contiene componentes heterologos producidos como los productos de gen secundarios de un gen heterologo contenido en el genoma del mamífero transgénico, que no es un ser humano. el gen heterologo codifica una entidad catalítica, heterologa, tal como una enzima humana, seleccionada del grupo que consiste de glicosiltransfereasas, fosforilasas, hidroxilasas, peptidasas y sulfotransferasas. Especialmente utiles en la práctica de esta invencion son las glicosiltransferasas humanas. Los componentes deseados heterologos incluyen oligosacáridos, glicoconjungados. Los oligosacáridos y los glicoconjugados pueden ser aislados de la leche de mamíferos transgénicos y utilizados en la preparacion de productos farmacéuticos, de equipo de diagnostico, nutritivos, y similares. La leche transgénica entera puede ser también utilizada para formular productos nutricionales que proveen ventajas especiales. La leche transgénica puede ser también utilizada en la produccion de productos nutritivos entéricos, especializados.
