Abstract
Un método y aparato para evitar la sobrevelocidad de un carro de golf energizado eléctricamente que tiene un motor eléctrico de corriente directa con devanado en paralelo, con un devanado de la armadura y un devanado del campo, conectados en serie a dispositivos conmutadores correspondientes y a una fuente de energía eléctrica de corriente directa a bordo. El carro de golf incluye un control adaptado y conectado para regular la corriente en cada uno de los devanados de armadura y de campo, para controlar la velocidad en respuesta a la orden de un operador. El carro de golf incorpora deteccion de sobrevelocidad al detectar la magnitud de la corriente en cada uno del devanado de la armadura y el devanado del campo, y detectar cuando la corriente en el devanado de la armadura invierte su direccion. La magnitud de la corriente de devanado de la armadura ante tal inversion es comparada con un valor previamente seleccionado y se genera una señal de sobrevelocidad cuando la magnitud de corriente inversa excede el valor previamente seleccionado. Entonces, la corriente del campo es controlado, en respuesta a la señal de sobrevelocidad, para limitar la velocidad del carro de golf a fin de inhibir la condicion de sobrevelocidad. Adicionalmente, el voltaje en el devanado de la armadura del motor es supervisado durante un período de tiempo cuando el motor está en una condicion no energizada y una señal de movimiento indicativa de la rotacion de la armadura del motor es provista ante la deteccion de un voltaje del devanado de la armadura del motor. El devanado del campo del motor es energizado en respuesta a la señal de movimiento, con un voltaje de una polaridad para generar una corriente del campo, a fin de hacer que el motor actue como un generador de corriente eléctrica y la corriente generada por la armadura del motor se haga circular a través de un diodo de frenado eléctrico y hacia la armadura del motor para retardar eléctricamente la rotacion de la armadura del motor mediante frenado eléctrico.
